Pioneering Australia's Steel Revolution.

It begins now

Greensteel Australia is investing $500 million to build Australia’s first new steel mill in over 30 years at Mayfield, Newcastle – where Australian steelmaking began.

Our Mayfield mill will use electric induction furnace technology, replacing gas with electricity throughout the process to produce ultra-low-emissions steel. Expected to be operational by January 2028.

And Mayfield is only the beginning. The location and timeline for Phase 2 are coming soon.

Integrated Green Technologies

Green Hydrogen

Green Hydrogen

Our mission to transform heavy industry relies on green hydrogen: produced from solar, wind, and water, emitting only water vapour.
Green Iron

Green Iron

Using green hydrogen to process Australian magnetite iron ore, we create high- purity green iron, emitting only steam instead of CO₂ from coal-based methods.
Green Steel

Green Steel

Our green steel achieves up to 95% CO₂ reduction in emissions compared to traditional methods. This makes it one of the greenest ore-based steels available.
