Romany Ibrahim is the Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Greensteel Australia, leading the company’s vision to transform Australian steelmaking through innovation, renewable energy and green hydrogen.
With more than 23 years of experience building and leading businesses, Romany brings a strong entrepreneurial and commercial perspective to Greensteel. He is leading the development of Australia’s first hydrogen-operated steel mill, combining advanced technology with renewable energy to establish a new benchmark for sustainable steel production and Australian manufacturing.
Mena Ibrahim
President & Executive Director
Mena Ibrahim is the President and Executive Director of Greensteel Australia, bringing more than 22 years of leadership experience and a strong focus on innovation, sustainable industry and long-term growth.
At Greensteel, Mena is helping lead the development of Australia’s first hydrogen-operated steel mill, supporting the transition to low-emission steelmaking and the future of Australian manufacturing.
His focus is on building a world-class steel operation that combines advanced technology, renewable energy and Australian capability to deliver high-quality steel for generations to come.
Patrick Buchan
President, Government and Public Affairs
Pat oversees corporate, media and government affairs and contributing to the company’s senior executive leadership.
He brings extensive experience working in both the Australian and U.S. governments, politics and policy and has held senior roles in Washington at the Pentagon and in Canberra at the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, and the Department of Defence. Pat has also worked on numerous political campaigns at local, state and federal elections. Pat holds degrees from La Trobe University and the University of New South Wales.
At Greensteel, Pat focuses on strengthening government and industry relationships and supporting the company’s vision for the future of low-carbon Australian steelmaking.
Peter Hy
Executive Advisor, Development and Strategic Partnerships
Peter Hy is a commodity executive with experience spanning industrial production, international trade and cross-border partnerships. He brings a deep understanding of iron and steel markets, from production and financing through to trading and distribution.
At Greensteel Australia, Peter focuses on developing the commercial relationships that connect the company’s steel production with domestic and international demand, including strategic offtake, trading, supply, fabrication and distribution partnerships.
Jamie Lynne Antonopoulos
General Counsel
Jamie Lynne Antonopoulos is a commercial lawyer and senior leader at Greensteel Australia, bringing extensive experience in complex commercial matters, contracts and dispute resolution.
At Greensteel, Jamie provides strategic legal and commercial guidance across the company’s growth and development, helping navigate complex agreements, partnerships and business matters as Greensteel delivers its vision for the future of Australian steelmaking.
Known for her practical approach and clear communication, Jamie plays an important role in managing risk and supporting sound commercial decision-making across the business.
